Dong Sheng

Born to a family of musicians in Beijing, Dong Sheng studied piano when he was six years old. After three years, he started cello lesson with his father: Ming Yao Sheng who was prominent cellist in China. continuing his cello study later at the Central Conservatory of music in Beijing, then at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland and University of Toronto, also as full scholarship student he was invite to Banff music festival and Colorado spring festival. His teachers include world famous cellist such as Arto Noras, Aldo Parisot, Daniel Domb etc.
As a soloist, chamber and orchestra musician, Dong Sheng has performed in China, Europe and North America. He also constantly appears on radio and TV program. Dong Sheng is also an enthusiastic cello teacher. Currently, he has devoted most of his time teaching in the Toronto area, and cultivated many excellent young talents!
